A Journey Through the Art and History of the Vatican

Discover one of the most iconic places in the world with an exclusive private tour of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Accompanied by an expert guide, you will explore the extraordinary collection of masterpieces collected over the centuries and admire up close the timeless works of Michelangelo, Raphael, and many others.

Exploring the Vatican Museums

The Vatican Museums are among the most visited museums in the world, with over 15 million visitors each year. Inside these extraordinary palaces, you will walk through corridors and galleries that house more than 9 million works of art. Your private guide will take you to discover the main attractions, including:

  • Gallery of the Candelabra: a splendid collection of classical and Renaissance sculptures.
  • Raphael Rooms: famous for the frescoes by the great painter from Urbino, including "The School of Athens".
  • Gallery of Maps: a journey through the historic maps of Renaissance Italy, painted with unique mastery.

The Majesty of the Sistine Chapel

The tour culminates with a visit to the Sistine Chapel, one of the absolute masterpieces of world art. Designed by Michelangelo and decorated with priceless frescoes, this chapel is still the place where the Conclave is held to elect the new Pope. You will admire the famous "Last Judgment" and the stories of Genesis, fascinated by the artistic and symbolic perfection of every detail.

Saint Peter's Basilica

On your way out from the Sistine Chapel, you will go inside St. Peter’s Basilica through an exclusive access skipping long lines*. The tour wouldn’t be complete without a walk in St. Peter’s Square, the open space before the basilica, redesigned by G. L. Bernini, an architectural masterpiece of the Baroque age

* After the Vatican Museums visit, it is up to the Vatican authorities to let the visitors directly into the Basilica with skip the line or divert them out to St. Peter’s Square. If the latter happens, the visitors will have to queue to enter the Church

**In occasion of the Papal Audience, St. Peter’s Basilica is not accessible on Wednesdays morning: in this case or in case of special religious events, the visit will be substituted with the Vatican Library and the Basilica will be explained from the outside
