The Basilica of San Antonio
There is perhaps no more loved and admired saint in the Catholic Church than
Saint Anthony of Padua, a Doctor of the Church. Though his work was in Italy, he was born in Portugal. Saint Anthony was canonized (declared a saint) less than one year after his death.
A visit of the
Basilica of St. Anthony in Padua is a must, here you will see relics, chalices, gifts, and documents relating to his life. The Basilica has four cloisters and contains many precious decorations. Botanical Garden of Padua
The botanical garden of Padua was
founded in 1545 for the cultivation of medicinal plants on behalf of the Paduan University. Over the centuries, the Botanical Garden of the
University of Padua has acquired an increasingly prevalent role and in 1997 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List with the following motivation:
“ The Botanical Garden of Padua is the original of all botanical gardens throughout the world, and represents the birth of science, of scientific exchanges, and understanding of the relationship between nature and culture. It has made a profound contribution to the development of many modern scientific disciplines, notably botany, medicine, chemistry, ecology, and pharmacy.”.

I Colli, e le terme di Abano
Our itinerary to discover Padua and its surrounding takes us to the hill town of Monselice, with its impressive
medieval architectures and castle. Starting from the centre, the walk up to the "seven churches" will take you to the top of the hill to admire the beautiful views. Continue the exploration of the territory by driving through the beautiful
Euganean Hills, to end your day at the Abbey of Praglia. Harmonious and austere to a time, the abbey preserves, in the silence of its cloisters, a precious inheritance of history and art. Among this, the botanical cloister witnesses an ancient tradition showing us the love and care the Benedictine monks have for the different aspects of nature.
Abano Terme is a city in the province of Padua, located on the eastern side of the Euganean Hills, about 45 minutes by car from Venice. Abano Terme is known for the beneficial properties of its
thermal waters since ancient times, it combines the traditional therapeutic aspects of healing thermal waters with a modern wellness center.
