Dorsoduro is a district full of museums, churches and historic buildings. It borders the Sestiere of San Croce and San Polo while it is connected to San Marco by the Ponte dell'Accademia. Also the Giudecca island, divided by the homonymous Canale della Giudecca, is part of this district.
Among the Museums we find the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Contemporary Art Museum of Punta della Dogana, the Gallerie dell'Accademia and the Cà Rezzonico Museum.
Among the Churches the most important is the Church of the Madonna della Salute other churches to visit the church of Gesuati alle Zattere, the church of San Trovaso, the church of San Pantalon and the church of San Nicolò dei Mendicoli.
Rich in historic buildings including: Palazzo Dario, sadly famous for the tragic death of its owners, you can find it near the Guggenheim Museum, the University of Cà Foscari and the Scuola Grande dei Carmini.
Among the activities, be sure to walk along the Zattere, a beautiful walk that takes you from the port of San Basilio to Punta della Dogana alla Salute. During the walk do not miss one of the last boatyards of Venice: Squero di San Trovaso and if it is time for an aperitif you can reach the nearby Osteria Il Cantinone già Schiavi, which offers the famous Venetian ciccheti.
